The Masterworks Chorale is always pleased to welcome new members and we look forward to the contributions new members will make. To contact the chorale, please email Masterworks25@hotmail.com.

The chorale is dedicated to the performance of quality choral music covering a wide range of styles and languages. The performance of "masterworks," music written by the great composers of history as well as works by contemporary composers, is a part of the goal of The Masterworks Chorale. In addition, the chorale performs various octavos, folk songs, spirituals and music for the holiday season.

Rehearsals | The Masterworks Chorale rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Church of the Redeemer in Springfield (Delaware County), Pennsylvania. During the last few weeks before a major concert, rehearsals may be extended until 10:00 p.m. There are two Saturday rehearsals (10:00 until 3:00), one in the fall and one in the spring, and a Friday night or Saturday morning dress rehearsal before each major concert (usually early to mid-December and May).

Attendance | Attendance is a must. Together the choir not only learns the notes, rhythms and texts, but also musical interpretation and development of choral blend and ensemble. Each person's contribution is important to the success of the group as a whole. Therefore everyone is expected to attend rehearsals. If anyone must miss a rehearsal, they are asked to let the director know ahead of time.

Concerts | The Masterworks Chorale usually gives two to four performances each season, which runs from September through May. This usually includes two major concerts, one on a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon in December, and the other in May. Performances are given in a number of locations in Philadelphia and Delaware County, Pennsylvania in churches, schools, and retirement communities.

Dues | Dues for the year are $100 ($50 for those joining in January). Checks should be made payable to The Masterworks Chorale.

Concert Attire for Men | Black tuxedo, white shirt, black bow tie, black shoes and socks. Men are responsible for obtaining their own attire.

Concert Attire for Women | Long-sleeved black blouse, long black skirt, and black shoes. Women are responsible for obtaining their own attire.

Funding | The Masterworks Chorale is a non-profit singing organization that depends on its own efforts to raise the money needed to cover operating expenses. In addition to paying dues, members are asked to sell at least five tickets to each major concert (at $10 each), and are encouraged to solicit advertisements for concert programs and contributions from individuals. The choir also performs "Singing Valentines" during the week of Valentines Day, and the sale of these valentines is another important fundraiser (and a fun activity).
